FAQ
What kinds of photos work best?+
This feature is designed for photos of people.
It works best when the person and background have different colors and the person isn't too small.
Objects and animals aren't supported yet.
How are hair edges handled?+
The person and their hair are detected separately and combined, then the edges are refined to follow the outlines in the photo.
The original background color is also cleaned out of semi-transparent edges, so the outline is less visible on any new background.
What happens if I save as JPG?+
JPG can't store transparency, so the background turns white.
To keep it transparent, save as PNG or WebP.
Are my photos stored on a server?+
No.
Your photos are never sent over the internet.
They're processed only inside the browser you're using right now, and when you close the page, both the originals and the results are cleared from your device's memory.
Is information like the photo's location passed along too?+
Result files don't include EXIF metadata such as location or device info.
The rotation info is applied first so your photo doesn't end up sideways, and then it's removed.
