FAQ
Can I submit a copy with my ID number hidden?+
It depends on who's asking.
Some places need the full number to verify your identity, so check their instructions first to see whether a partly hidden copy is accepted.
Why is 'Black out' the default instead of mosaic?+
Small text like numbers can sometimes be guessed under a light mosaic.
Black out fills the area completely, so the original numbers don't remain in the file.
Does my ID photo stay on a server?+
Byte Bakery never sends your photos to a server.
Everything is done inside the browser you're using, and it's cleared from your device's memory when you close the page.
Is information like the photo's location passed along too?+
Result files don't include EXIF metadata such as location or device info.
The rotation info is applied first so your photo doesn't end up sideways, and then it's removed.
