FAQ

Will text in photos of documents still be readable?+

At around 1MB, even a photo of an A4 or letter-size document keeps enough resolution for the text to be easy to read.
We adjust quality first and only reduce the resolution if it still doesn't fit.

Can I compress several photos at once?+

You can add up to 20 at once and download the results as a single ZIP file.

Does it work with PNG files?+

You can add PNG, WebP and HEIC files.
To hit a size limit, saving the result as JPG is best.
Because of how PNG compression works, it's hard to shrink PNG files as much as you want.

Are my photos stored on a server?+

No.
Your photos are never sent over the internet.
They're processed only inside the browser you're using right now, and when you close the page, both the originals and the results are cleared from your device's memory.

Is information like the photo's location passed along too?+

Result files don't include EXIF metadata such as location or device info.
The rotation info is applied first so your photo doesn't end up sideways, and then it's removed.
